Missionary Talks 14: Ignacio “Pancho” Rovirosa

Filed under: Podcast,Show Notes — David Peach at 4:00 am on Saturday, January 27, 2007

Pancho and his family are missionaries to the country of Cuba. Pancho talks with us about Cuba and some of the difficulties missionaries face. For legal reasons, Pancho is currently not able to take his whole family into the country to minister, therefore they will be taking short trips into Cuba. While working to get into the country full time the family will be working with other missionaries and national pastors possibly in Mexico.

Pancho tells of what his ministry will be like in the country in the near future as well as shares with the listeners what he would like to see as the results of his labors.

You can read the Rovirosa prayer letters at their mission board website.

Missionary Talks 13: Emily and Vickie Smith

Filed under: Podcast,Show Notes — David Peach at 10:19 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2007

Emily and Vickie are daughters of missionaries who have been in Mexico all of the girl’s lives. They speak with us about ministry opportunities that they have as 16 and 12 year old young ladies. They also tell us about the city of Mérida and shopping. Then they explain what life in the villages is like for the young people in the villages.

This concludes this group of interviews with Missionary Kids. It was good to have them tell their stories with us. Please share their stories with others. In the future we will have MKs from other areas of the world.

I hope you enjoyed these interviews. Please take time to share with me through email or through the comment section of each of these shows what you thought about them.

Missionary Talks 12: James Peach

Filed under: Podcast,Show Notes — David Peach at 11:11 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2007

This interview is a bit different. It is a continuation of our series with missionary kids. All of the others have been older teens or adults. However this episode as well as the next feature younger children. Therefore these will be a little different in the information gleaned. Hopefully they will be a blessing to you.

In this episode I interview my own son James. He is 9 years old and talks mostly about the Mayan ruins and other places to see near Mérida. At least, that is the information that made it through all of the editing.

Missionary Talks 11: Elisabeth Carney

Filed under: Podcast,Show Notes — David Peach at 11:02 am on Saturday, January 6, 2007

Our interview with Elisabeth Carney is the third in our series with missionary kids. She grew up on the mission field of Argentina with her parents and three siblings as they ministered to the Jewish community.

As the oldest of the MKs I have interviewed, she gives insight that the younger interviewees may not yet see. She also has the experience of being a missionary and raising her kids on the mission field in Mexico. You will enjoy her enthusiasm and love for her family as well as her openness to sharing what it was like to move back to the US after her experiences in Argentina.
